The Fraser Coast Cultural Festival starts on Saturday, 24 March with a Gala Performance in the Brolga Theatre in Maryborough. On Sunday 25 March the Festival in the Park will be held in Scarness, Hervey Bay. This will start with a Parade of Nations, followed by performances on several stages by Cultural groups representing countries from around the world.

The Annual Hervey Bay Family Fishing Competition will have AUD1000 to be given away during the four days of competition to some lucky entrant. A 4.2 metre boat and motor is a give away to a lucky entrant on the Sunday. There are 30 ice boxes a heaps of fishing gear to be won for weighing any legal fish.

Held over two days, the Annual Hervey Bay Gem and Jewellery Show is one of the premier events of the year for the Fraser Coast.

The annual Hervey Bay Triathlon is open to, and appeals to, all levels of athletic ability with 26 individual and six team categories - while the event boasts over AUD25,000 in prizes it still provides a friendly and enjoyable multisports experiance for competitors from first-timer's to Olympians.
