Next Backpackers opened on 1 July 2006, and has been awarded best budget accommodation for 2007 and 2008, and was also awarded the Best Cleanliness award by Hostelbookers in January 2008, setting new standards for backpackers hostels in the region. Sit back and relax in the lounge bar or enjoy one of the 450 free movies in the cinema room, sitting back and relax in the comfortable leather lounge.

All rooms are air conditioned - yes even the dormitories and the internet cafe are fully airconditioned to give you that extra comfort in the tropical climate. Another awesome feature is that all their rooms (except the common dorm) have ensuite bathrooms. The modern stainless steel kitchen is large, well equipped and modern giving you a clean, hygienic area if you want to self-cater. They also have a large lounge area complete with flat screen television with Cable or watch you favourite movie in the cinema room.



Room Descriptions

Deluxe Dormitory
All of their rooms are large and spacious. Timber floors from Fraser Island are a feature of all the rooms. All the dormitories are airconditioned and are spacious with lovely new beds and mattresses. These rooms all have ensuite bathrooms. Rooms have security cards for extra security and privacy. Maximum of 10 people.
Girls Only Dormitory
Girls only exclusive zone. Large rooms with plenty of space and light. Linen included. Fully airconditioned and with ensuite. Also fitted hair dryer and mirrors. Maximum of 10 people.
  • Hairdryer
Standard Dormitory
Their Standard Dormitory rooms are fully air-conditioned with shared facilities. All beds come with linen, blankets and towels available from reception.
Six Bed Dormitory
The Six Bed Dormitory is fully air-conditioned and en-suited. All beds come with sheets and pillows. Blankets and towels are available from reception.
Four Bed Dormitory
Their four bed dormitories are fully air-conditioned and ensuited, they also offer a Four Bed Female only Dormitory as well. Situated on the second level makes these rooms a nice quiet place to rest before and after your Fraser Island, Whale Watching or Lady Elliot Island Venture.
Private Twin/Double
Next Backpackers has Private Twin Double rooms which are fully air-conditioned and ensuited, comes complete with linen, blankets, shampoo, soap and towels. A little luxury as you travel.
